I actually thought Barney was going to make a smart play and get out of bounds before touching the ball to draw a penalty, but nope, he made sure to catch the ball with his feet inbounds before meekly stepping out at the 1-yard line. Even if this was the first time in his life Barney had returned a kickoff, this would be unacceptable. Just let the ball go and you're either getting it at the 25-yard line after a touchback or the 35 if it goes out of bounds.
